EL PASO CHALLENGE

Blog74A

According to a CNN article, sixth-grader Ruben Martinez plans to display posters, pass out flyers, and promote a challenge on Facebook to help his Texas community begin to heal from the devastating shooting that claimed the lives of twenty-two people and injured twenty-four others. This eleven-year-old is encouraging each person in El Paso to do twenty-two good deeds for others—one for each of the victims who were shot and killed when a white supremacist fired shots inside a Walmart on August 3, 2019.

According to the Hechinger Report, an online journal covering education and inequality matters, when Bradley Arrowood was in jail and given a textbook, he laughed because education was the last thing on his mind. When he was a child, Arrowood was told he’d never amount to anything. This celebration attracted 35,000 singers, more than 1,000 choirs, and 700 dance groups to the capital of Tallinn. This event, held every five years, began as only a song in 1869.

ALCOHOL AND YOU

Blog70B

Research published last year in The Lancet concluded that no amount of alcohol consumption is healthy.
